[Anchor:ALLIE] {***ALLIE**} [ReadRate:15] There are many important issues on the ballot next month, and one could have a drastic effect on how Athens City Schools operate. The district has a one percent tax renewal that school officials say could make or break the general operating budget. [TAKE VO] {***VO***} [CG :Std Lower 3rd\Income Tax Renewal\ATHENS, OH] The issue is the same as the one passed four years ago and would generate almost three million dollars in revenue for the general operating fund. That fund is used to pay teacher salaries, provide school supplies and make sure everything runs smoothly. Athens City Schools Superintendent Carl Martin says if the tax is renewed, there will be no problems, but if not -- the district could lose ten percent of its operating revenue.
